Like I did after Fall semester, I'd like to take this opportunity to give my impressions of the classes I took this semester and reflect on what experience I gained in the past few months. This Spring I took three studio classes that I'm reviewing.
3D Foundations - Sayaka Ganz
Having never done any work in 3D media before taking this class, I was prepared formt he start to be up late working on projects, putting ridiculous amounts of work into relatively simple things. And although I did experience these feelings, I also feel that I grew artistically like never before. Sayaka was a great instructor who demonstraited the media and then stayed out of our way for the most part, helping when we needed it. This gave me a chance to really make the most of my projects and be as creative as I could. I tried to go above and beyond the assignment and I feel that all of my projects were very successful. I think I put more work overall into this class than any other. My only complaint is that despite the amount of effort I put into making my projects superior, my grades almost never reflected this. Overall I felt like I may have been graded harder than some other people in the class, but it all worked out in the end.
Personal Grade: B
Semester Grade: A
Intro. to Printmaking - Shayura Kumar
My second class with Shayura proved to be extremely educational and gave me experience in printmaking, a field that I never really thought I would enjoy. I found that I really did love working on my projects for hours at night, getting ink all over myself, and even the crushing feeling of defeat and frustration every time a print didn't come out how I wanted it too. I feel like I can use this experience in the medium in the future, and can integrate it into future work. The class was definitely the most challenging class this semester, but I think that my work turned out alright overall.

Semester Grade: B
Intro. to Digital Art - Fred Leighton
This class was the first in the curriculum for my major, and introduced students to some common programs and techniques that we'll be using in the future. So basically this was my easiest studio class. Not to say that I didn't do a lot of work on my projects, of course. It's more of a relaxing class since I already knew how to do a lot with the programs. I also gained some super good experience with other programs (After Effects), and learned how to code in CSS. I finished the class with one of the best grades I've gotten, and I feel that it was well-deserved, but also that it was easy to get because of my prior knowledge. Fred was an alright instructor. His lessons were a bit dull at times, but he seemed to really know the programs and could offer some good suggestions and assistance when needed. So overall the class was okay. I learned some stuff, I did some stuff, and I'm now prepared to move on to higher classes.
Personal Grade: C+
Semester Grade: A
Final GPA = 3.83

Next semester I'm taking 2 digital classes and a jewelery & metals class, and I'm really looking forward to them.
